Step-by-Step

The Cabinet Installation Process — Detailed

1

Measurement Visit (Day 0)

Our designer arrives at your site with a measuring tape, laser level, and notebook. We measure every wall, ceiling height, window sill, electrical outlet position, beam locations, and floor level variation. Philippine homes often have 5–15mm floor variation between corners — this must be recorded to set the correct cabinet base height. The measurement visit takes 45–90 minutes for a standard kitchen.

2

Design & Quotation (Days 1–2)

Within 48 hours of the measurement visit, you receive: (1) a 3D layout drawing showing upper cabinet positions, base cabinet layout, island dimensions if applicable, and door swing directions; (2) a full itemized written quotation listing every material, hardware item, and labor component separately. You review, request changes if needed, and approve in writing before any fabrication begins.

3

Fabrication (Weeks 1–4)

After you sign the contract and pay the 50% downpayment, fabrication begins. Our workshop cuts 18mm marine plywood to exact dimensions from your measurement data. Panels are edge-banded with PVC, drilled for hardware, and assembled into cabinet boxes. Doors are cut from 18mm HDF and wrapped with HPL laminate. Each cabinet box is quality-checked for squareness (max 1mm diagonal variance) before painting and delivery.

4

Pre-Installation Preparation (Your Responsibility)

Before installation day, you must complete: (1) all wall and ceiling painting — never paint after cabinet installation; (2) all floor tiling fully grouted and cured — cabinets sit on your finished floor; (3) electrical outlet positioning for appliances (range hood, microwave, refrigerator) — done by your licensed electrician, not us; (4) area cleared of all materials and furniture. If these items are incomplete on installation day, rescheduling may be necessary.

5

Installation Day (Days 1–5)

Our own installation team (not subcontractors) arrives with all fabricated cabinets and hardware. Day 1: wall stud marking, level line striking, upper cabinet hanging. Day 2: base cabinet setting and leveling using adjustable feet (all cabinets are leveled to within 1mm regardless of floor variation). Days 3–4: door hanging, drawer installation, and hardware adjustment. Day 5: final alignment, handle installation, touch-up, and site cleaning.

6

Handover & Warranty (Day 5)

On handover, you inspect every door, drawer, and cabinet. All hinges are adjusted to your preference (soft-close speed, door gap). You receive: a signed completion document, the 12-month structural warranty certificate, care and maintenance instructions, and the 10% final payment invoice (due only on your satisfaction). If any item needs adjustment after handover, we return within 3 working days at no charge within the warranty period.

Client Preparation

What Must Be Ready Before Installation Day

Walls Painted

All wall and ceiling painting must be 100% complete before installation. Painting after installation gets paint on cabinet faces and hardware — not covered under warranty.

Floor Tiles Laid

All floor tiles must be fully laid and grouted at least 48 hours before installation. Base cabinets sit on the finished floor. Tiling after installation is not possible.

Electrical Outlets Set

All electrical outlets for kitchen appliances (hood, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher) must be positioned in the walls before installation. Your licensed electrician handles this — we do not do electrical work.

Plumbing Roughed In

Cold water supply line and drain for the kitchen sink must be roughed in to the correct position under the base cabinet. Your plumber positions these before our installation day.

Area Cleared

The kitchen and installation pathway must be completely clear of furniture, materials, and construction debris. Our team cannot work around occupied or partially occupied spaces.

Access Confirmed

Building access, elevator scheduling, and any HOA installation permits must be arranged by the client before installation day. We notify you 5 days in advance to prepare access.

Questions

Cabinet Installation FAQ Philippines

How long does kitchen cabinet installation take?

Installation takes 3–5 working days for a standard kitchen (3–5 linear meters). Larger kitchens with islands take 5–10 days. The full timeline from measurement to handover is 3–6 weeks, which includes 2–4 weeks of fabrication time after you approve the design.

What must be ready before installation day?

Before installation: (1) all walls and ceiling painted; (2) all floor tiles fully laid and grouted; (3) electrical outlets positioned; (4) plumbing roughed in; (5) area completely cleared. If any item is incomplete on installation day, rescheduling may be necessary and may incur a restocking/redelivery fee.

Is installation included in the cabinet price?

Yes — installation labor is included in the per-linear-meter price at CabinetMakerPH. There is no separate installation charge. The price in your written quotation covers fabrication, delivery, and installation in one total.

What happens if dimensions changed after measurement?

Our team adjusts for minor variances up to 5mm on-site at no charge. For larger variances caused by changes in walls or flooring after the measurement date, additional fabrication charges apply. This is why we measure after all tiling and plastering is complete — changes after that point are the client's responsibility.

What's covered in the 12-month warranty?

The 12-month warranty covers: hinge misalignment, door warping, drawer slide failure, structural carcass issues, loose edge banding, and any hardware defect. It does not cover: damage from flooding, pest infestation, unauthorized modification, or normal wear to laminate surfaces. Warranty service is responded to within 3 working days of report.
